One Button Home System

Leave the garage light on? Turn it off from your bedroom!

The One Button Home, Touch Plate Slave, consists of these elements:

1. DATA/POWER line. This line provides 6-volt power to the slave unit. Also, it is the line which transfers data to and from the Slave unit. This Data/Power line can be any two conductor cable such as telephone wire.

2. SLAVE unit. Each Slave consists of two parts --- the part which inputs the touch plates and the part which controls the AC Power. The slave can receive and send data. This allows each Slave to respond to other Slaves or the Master unit. The slave and AC relay control can be a plug-in module which includes all electronics likely to fail. This provides a quick and easy way to repair the system in the event of a component failure.

3. TOUCH PLATE line. Several touch plates can be attached to the small, shielded Touch Plate line.

4. TOUCH PLATES. Each touch plate is a metal or conductive plate. It is isolated from the control line with a 10 megohm resistor. Since there are no mechanical or other parts to fail, reliable service is assured.

5. LIGHT or APPLIANCE. Power from the AC Line is directed by the Slave to turn on or off a light or appliance.
